Moving Image: Brian Uranovsky

Starting his camera career in traditional film and mentored, amongst others, by one of Jacques Cousteau’s diving colleagues, Brian has 29 years experience as a Lighting Cameraman/Director of Photography, 19 years of which were for the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). During these years he gained a very wide-ranging expertise in African & international filming, became an expert in helicopter aerials and filming at sea, and has filmed four times in the Antarctic – a place on this earth he loves, despite the extreme temperatures and camera challenges. Brian is fully competent with HD filming and is a specialist operator of Perfect Horizon camera stabilisers. These have been vetted and approved by the BBC NHU and Brian is the only European representative.
